The monthly VCCA meeting was held Monday, October 10 at 7:00 PM at Cage Ginger, located at 1952 West Gray Street.

An HISD candidate spokesperson spoke for Ann Sung running for HISD Board member.

Oak Forest representative, Bill Robertson spoke about glass recycling options since Houston no longer picks up glass for recycling.  The city has 9 glass recycling drop off bins scattered throughout the city.  The closest locations to VCCA are:

  • Salvation Army parking lot at 2208 Washington Ave.
  • Westpark Recycling Center at 5900 Westpark Dr.

For a fee, the Oak Forest glass pickup will come by to pick up glass at your house.  Sign up at iRecycle.glass. Fee is approximately $5/pick-up.
